The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.

This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.

Initially, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

First, the party understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The traitor then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
  • However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the group enter places they usually can’t.
  • Furthermore, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the family.

This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
